“I added two seats on a Tuesday and the invoice made no sense to me or my bookkeeper. I still can’t tell you what I actually paid for.”

“Half my team can’t log in since we moved to Okta. People are pasting passwords into Slack, which is the exact thing SSO was supposed to end.”

What I’d fix first

The proration preview, this week.

One template change clears the largest cluster on the board. The seat-change modal quotes the list price while billing charges the discounted rate, so 148 customers believed they were overcharged when nobody was. Sixty-one of them asked for a refund we did not owe, and each one cost an agent about eleven minutes to reconcile by hand.

The SSO alias bug hurts more per customer, but it lands on seven accounts and needs real work in the identity path. Ship the proration preview first, then put the same engineer on the alias match while the billing fix soaks. I would hold the export timeout until both land — it is loud, but a nightly job and a “we’ll email you the file” message would take the heat out of it in an afternoon.
